Young Methodist Leaders Conference

Posted by: bertrand on: September 8, 2008

Objective
I attended the Young Methodist Leaders Conference with the intention of taking a break from work and finding a time of refreshing from God. Also, because of the increasing leadership portfolios in YMPACT, I wanted to learn something new about leadership development, and build contacts with other churches so as to gain more knowledge about how to lead YMPACT into something greater.

Experiences
There have been a couple of experiences that have happened during the 3 days at YMLC.

  • Complete forgiveness of Past Sin
  • Healing for Past Wounds
  • Covenant of Discipline & Discipleship
  • Calling to Full-Time Ministry
  • Anointing from The Holy Spirit
  • Re-ignition of Ministry
  • Building a Community of Leaders in YMPACT and Methodist Church
  • Revival in The Methodist Church

Action/Reaction

  • God was gracious enough to remind me many times, that I have been forgiven and will be healed from my sin. That I will conquer the bondage that has been troubling me for so long. The life of a victorious Christian is not something that is unattainable for me. He reminded me of this again and again, and by the end, I was confident in forgiveness.
  • God also brought to mind, a word that He had put in my heart at the beginning of this year. The call for discipline and the setting apart of my life for Him, no matter where I have been called to. In my life, I am called to be different in my lifestyle and in my spiritual disciplines. Even though I have not been doing that lately. Salty Salt!
  • I responded to the call of Full-Time Ministry. Even though God was clear about the loneliness that I would have to endure, and the unknown that I would be living in, my response to God was “A Thousand Times, Yes!” It was at that point that I was reminded of the anointing of God in my Ministry.
  • Recently, my Ministry has been extremely dry. However, immediately after receiving that anointing again, I was immediately put to work with friends that were struggling. It felt wonderful to be back in the work of God again.
  • The time at YMLC was a good time to also listen and interact with the other leaders in YMPACT and in the Methodist Church. I have caught the vision of a revived Methodist Church, and I dream for it to happen in Pentecost and in the church as a whole.

Give me one pure and holy passion. Give me one magnificent obsession. Give me one glorious ambition for my life. To know and follow hard after you.
